Beverley has been with DFID for over 16 years and has held various positions including Director for West & Southern Africa, Head of DFID Zambia, Head of Information; Head of External Communications; Chief Press Officer and Press Secretary. During a secondment to HM Treasury she held the position of Head of International Poverty Reduction Team where she managed a policy team which developed the Chancellor’s 2005 International Development agenda. Prior to joining DFID Beverley worked for NGO’s including Comic Relief and Business in the Community and was a Director at a Communications Company.
Beverley started her career in the City of London where during her 7 year tenure she became the first female underwriter on the oldest syndicate in Lloyds of London, before leaving to work in development.
Beverley is presently the DFID Director responsible for Asia, the Overseas Territories and the Caribbean which includes India, Bangladesh, Burma, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Nepal, the Overseas Territories and the Caribbean. She is also the DFID Disability Champion and Chair of the Staff Appointed in Country Committee.
